Equality not Feminism

Lately there was viral post of company offering leaves for women employee during their monthly hormone cycles. Then there was a demand by women NGO for 3 years break to women workers post their maternity. I also happen to view a video created representing; special treatment offered during pregnancy 9 months by boss to make the women employee feel comfortable. It is like giving professional goals to organisation or HR department for employee engagement initiatives. There are so many other instances wherein people are demanding extra for women workers. Be it flexibility of time, break for personal life balance or be it limiting their working conditions.

The real question here is; are the women working in the real corporate world actually care for all this.
Like every man motivating factor for the working woman are similar aspects like any working gender.
- Job Satisfaction
- Own Identity
- Financial independence
- Recognition for her work.

The fact of recognition & appreciation is strong motivating force from the era of Mahabharata or Ramayana to mention. The need of every individual, when he/she exude efforts. To quote examples from past it can be lack recognition feeling by Karna in Mahabharata or Kunti in Ramayana. There has nothing to do with the role they played to instigate negativity but the root cause of their action was lack of recognition & identity crisis.

Women primarily stepped out of their houses not to prove that we can stand equal to men. They did that to either support the family crisis or to get recognised for their efforts. To gain some recognition and reward. Another example from past; Rani Laxmibai did step out, not to show how brave or skilled she was, she had to do it due to family crisis after losing her husband.

The concept of feminism is completely misunderstood by some humans, who are trying to represent it different forms for own advantages. We see our mothers working at home and consider it as part of their duties. Does a home maker actually demand word of recognition. Does she demand any extra privileges to make herself comfortable when she is doing her chores irrespective of health conditions. And even in few conditions when they are offered they deny to take those privileges. Not because they do not need it, that is because the spirit of women is created by nature to stand strong and yet be approachable. Women are difficult to understand as they demand only fair behavior at work, yet they express emotions when needed. They always walk on tight rope to balance their different roles and life in different situations.

Any initiative taken for betterment of any gender are the organisation own policy. But expecting similar ones from your organisation is not fair.
Let us make policies that support the equality factor and still not set examples that demoralise others. Women like to receive privileges and still want to be counted equal is an unfair expectation. Women spirit should give goals to Men spirit for delivering and stretching themselves beyond the physical capacity and Men should not pamper women as pet. Men has a role assigned by nature and so has a woman; let us respect the nature and continue exploring for a quality life where everyone is treated equally.
