Transition from Manager to Leader

When we talk about coaching people there are 2 ways of doing it. Either through leadership or through management. What is the way that you opt for?  Or read further if you wish to do the transition.
  • A leader will always create an environment which will make people follow him. A leader's vision is so powerful that he can make people look up to him. A manager is someone for whom the next step is leadership. They have the ideology of directing people, just they need to polish their skills to make people follow. A manager should let got an authoritative approach to gratitude.
  • Leaders have a proactive approach toward tasks. A manager needs to develop that foresight as he reacts to the change and then implements the action.
  • Leader persuades people and makes the group think alike which creates a team environment. The manager will need to overcome his own set of insecurities to look at the bigger picture. Managers focus on allotment of work which at a stage creates a clash of opinions.
  • A manager works in a focused direction and he directs people in the same manner. But something superior about leaders is they share their vision/focus. Through this, they gain loyalty and a sense of ownership towards the goal.
  • A manager works in the circle of influence and facilitates the team towards the target. A leader believes in creating the circle of power and delegates his powers for results.
  • A manager is generally self-obsessed due to which he takes the credit and then passes it on to the team. A leader has the humility which makes him give the credit. They look for teamwork and make themselves HERO.
With the above, you can relate as a manager to what you are doing short and you can improvise. And if you are on the path of leadership, you know what you are doing right.
